The Advantage Carolina fund is designed to support the overall economic health of the Charlotte region through support of initiatives in four key areas – Economic Development, Regionalism, Education and Inner City Development.

For consideration of funding support, please complete a one-page request following the format below.

  1. Provide an overall description of the initiative, including purpose, key participants, timeline and key components.
  2. State which Advantage Carolina focus area the initiative addresses – Economic Development, Regionalism, Education or Inner City Development.
  3. Address the strong potential for long-term, positive impact on the Charlotte region.
  4. Include how the request meets the financial requirements of Advantage Carolina:
    • Advantage Carolina funds to be utilized as seed money, with plans for ongoing funding developed if necessary;
    • Advantage Carolina funds represent no more than 50 percent of seed dollars; and
    • Advantage Carolina funds are not to be used for operating dollars.
  5. Conclude with specifics of requests and information regarding to whom the funds will be distributed/managed. Note: Advantage Carolina prefers granting to 501 c3s.
  6. Request should be signed by the board chair of requesting organization.
