The Charlotte Chamber SouthWest Chapter hosted Autumn FoodFest, its annual signature event, in Whitehall Corporate Center on Nov. 20. More than 250 attendees enjoyed food samples, giveaways and great networking with businesses in the SouthWest Chapter footprint. Nine restaurants competed in this year’s competition for best appetizer, entrée and dessert.
Previously, Autumn FoodFest (formerly Autumn AirFest) was an outdoor daytime event with only a chicken wing restaurant competition. As attendees sampled all of the food, they were encouraged to vote for their favorite dishes, and the winners were announced during the event.
Congratulations to City Tavern, The TIN Kitchen and Laurene’s Cafeteria for taking home top honors! City Tavern won the appetizer competition for its lobster ravioli and sea bake. The TIN Kitchen’s braised pork with sweet potato butter, apple cider demi-glace, crispy parsnips and caramelized knob onions won for the entrée category. And Laurene’s Cafeteria won for its bananas foster in a close race for best dessert.
