About the DBC
Diversity - whether it’s of opinion, thought, race, abilities or gender ethnicity– is an important part of the workplace. A diverse workforce that embraces all cultures helps others learn new ways of doing things, and exposes them to new perspectives and ideas.
At the Charlotte Chamber, we strive to make sure that Charlotte’s pro-business environment fosters and values inclusion, that multiculturalism and diversity are welcome and encouraged throughout everything we do. To that end, we have created several initiatives designed to support a diverse workforce in our area.
Diversity Business Council
This council, known as our DBC, hosts several events and programs throughout the year to strengthen business relationships between minoritymulticultural and women business owners and major companies who belong to the Chamber’s Board of Advisors. The Diversity Business Council consists of minority, multicultural, women-owned and major firms and institutions. An Advisory Council oversees all programs.
The DBC hosts semi-annual membership meetings, as well as an annual Diversity Procurement Conference, through which minoritymulticultural and women business owners get one-on-one appointments with procurement officials and buyers from local major corporations and institutions.
All of our efforts under the DBC are aimed at one goal: making sure that minority, multicultural and women business owners participate fully in Charlotte’s robust economy.
