Charlotte in 2012
Charlotte is still waiting to hear from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) whether we'll host the 2012 convention. A recent report from the NY Times (see last paragraph) indicated an announcement could come as soon as next week. Hosting the DNC convention could have a $150 to $200 million economic impact on our city. And we've seen from large events, like the CIAA tournament referenced above, that the impact can last for years. Follow the Charlotte in 2012 committee on Twitter @charlottein2012 or like them on Facebook to stay up-to-date on the latest.
