For the past 58 years, the Charlotte Chamber has taken a group of business leaders and public officials on an annual trip to a city to learn best practices while getting a firsthand look at that city's innovative ideas, programs and initiatives. This year, the group will visit Houston, Texas, led by trip co-chairs Kathleen Jameson, Mint Museum; Joe Piemont, Carolinas HealthCare System; and Tom Skains, Piedmont Natural Gas. Participants - including board of advisor members, local leaders and public officials - will examine how Houston has addressed issues such as economic development, energy, entrepreneurial and minority owned development, funding transit and roads and healthcare, to name a few. For more information on the chamber's Inter City Visit, contact Marilyn Monson at 704.378.1302.
