GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

The Charlotte Chamber’s Board of Advisors was established in order to provide an additional leadership base for our Board of Directors. Charlotte is fortunate to have a high number of CEOs and executives who are actively involved in the Chamber, business life and the community.
A Board of Advisors membership demonstrates a company’s commitment to Charlotte and provides the member with the opportunity to assist the Chamber’s Board of Directors in making critical policy decisions.

- Inter City Visit
Invitation to join more than 130 executives, government and media at this high-level annual event. We travel to another city to learn best practices on education, transportation, economic development, philanthropy, the arts, downtown redevelopment and more. The Charlotte Chamber has been conducting these two-day trips for more than 55 years. The 2012 Inter City Visit will be to London from May 19-23, 2012.
- Economic Development Field Trip
The Economic Field Trip is a new event for 2012. It will give 50 Charlotte business leaders a look behind the scenes at an operation that has a major impact on economic development in Charlotte and the Carolinas. In 2012, we will travel to Charleston, S.C., to tour the S.C. ports facilities and meet with port officials who will give an in-depth overview of the operations and provide a peek behind the curtain at their facilities. We will also visit the new Boeing facility in Charleston where we will meet with Boeing executives and learn more about their plant and the new 787 Dreamliner aircraft being produced there. This trip will take place from September 19-20, 2012.
- Fall Planning Retreat
Invitation to join more than 150 executives and chamber staff as we develop the chamber’s Program of Work for the upcoming year. This 24-hour retreat offers unparalleled high-level networking and opportunities to get more deeply involved. The 2012 Fall Planning Retreat will be in Charleston, S.C., from September 20-21, 2012.
- Economic Outlook Conference
Invitation to this annual luncheon held in December featuring Charlotte’s best economic thinkers who provide a recap of the current year and give their economic forecasts for the coming year. It typically draws more than 600 attendees.
- Economic Development Research
Our award-winning economic development research team will provide one targeted data pull per your request. The list will be comprised of companies within a preferred geography, industry, employee range and/or other detailed criteria to serve as helpful leads in expanding your business.
