Center Piedmont Community College

The Institute for Entrepreneurship at Central Piedmont Community College is Charlotte’s premier continuing education program dedicated to supporting hopeful entrepreneurs and existing small business owners in the Charlotte Region. It is one of the 58 community colleges across North Carolina that comprise the Small Business Center Network (SBCN), a statewide initiative dedicated to supporting the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community based provider of training, counseling, and resource information.

Free Resources Available

  • Comprehensive Courses - A variety of courses addressing the needs of the small business owner are offered on an on-going basis. Courses on topics ranging from how to Design Your First Business Website to Blogging for Business.
  • Business Seminars and Workshops – The institute offers a wide variety of seminars and workshops to help small businesses be successful. Some of the topics include:
    • From Corporate World to Entrepreneur: How to make the transition
    • Business Success: Avoiding Failure
    • Creating a Marketing Plan
    • So You’re Thinking About Exporting?
  • Confidential Business Counseling – The Institute for Entrepreneurship provides free, confidential, experienced counselors as advisors for new and existing businesses. Available on an as needed basis, this local confidential service acts as a sounding board for new ideas and or concerns you may have about your business. Our professional staff will help you find solutions to your challenging business questions. No question is too simple or complicated.
  • Business Resource Center -The Institute for Entrepreneurship has an onsite Business Resource Center that is stocked with a library of professional resources that will help boost your business knowledge. Available resources include:
    • Printed Materials – books, magazines, resource guides, pamphlets & brochures
    • Multi-Media Materials – CD’s, DVD’s, tapes, videos
    • Computer Workstations – Internet Accessible, Business Related Software (Business Plan Pro, Marketing Plan Pro, Business Feasibility Analysis Pro, Advertising Plan Pro)
