Fluctuation of the economic climate affects our mental state of mind.
Instead of succumbing to the perils of negative thinking, your time must be used constructively. Implement new ways of solidifying your remaining workforce and, as a leader, strive to alleviate as much peripheral stress and distraction as possible.
Open up lines of communication again by re-establishing trust. Give a few minutes per day to entertain as many crazy new ideas as possible. This can be easily achieved by launching your own company blog. Encourage only positive constructive feedback on suggestions (even if the initial idea seems insane!) because what may derive from its exploration could be revelatory.
Support employees to reveal new ways in which they attract a customer, save the company money or have them praise a colleague that goes above and beyond. Acknowledge your employees' successes company wide - no matter how small or insignificant - with a personal remark from you.
Positivity in a leader is magnetic, especially in times of strife! In my motivational speeches, we use survival stories to highlight the human spirit and demonstrate the power of enthusiastic leadership.
