Max Daetwyler Corporation’s main focus has been manufacturing and selling of equipment for the gravure printing industry. With the economic downturn also affecting gravure printing, we realized the need to diversify our business in order to Survive and Thrive in 2009.

In January, we formed a joint-venture with our largest competitor (K. Walter, Hell and Bauer Logistics) and now operate as Kaspar Walter Service Corporation. This venture only includes the specific areas involved in selling and servicing gravure cylinder making equipment.

Further, we formed a company called Micro Waterjet LLC and started investing in bringing a new technology to the U.S. We are in the process of installing the first high precision waterjet cutting machines in the United States. These machines are located in the Huntersville, N.C., facility and are able to produce high precision parts with an accuracy usually not obtainable with traditional waterjet cutting. The equipment is used to serve a variety of industries, including the racing industry and medical field. www.microwaterjet.com

Also, with the Machining, Fabrication and Engineering capabilities right at hand, we formed Daetwyler Custom Fabrication & Machining whose main focus is to offer custom fabrication, machining, and engineering services to outside companies and individuals. www.daetwyler-usa.com/ms
