To Survive and Thrive in 2009, Whitehead Associates Inc. is focusing on what we recommend for other high-performance organizations: remaining committed to our goals and purpose while remaining versatile in our thinking and execution. For example, while we made the decision to complete our new conference center on schedule, we also expanded the use of the facility to generate additional revenue streams. We have also reconfigured some of our consulting services from long-term corporate engagements to smaller “bite-sized” services to offer solutions to common corporate challenges like creating high-performance teams, high-impact sales & service, and leading in transition. We are also leveraging our services to make the biggest difference to the people of Charlotte, including creating an affordable Career Reinvention course for people desiring career direction, as well as increasing our pro-bono work to community agencies. To achieve these goals, we sustain our energy and engagement by regularly reviewing our company purpose & values, supporting one another’s wellness, engaging in candid and direct communication, and adhering to a carefully-developed intentional culture and purpose - which is what we advise our clients to do to thrive in their own organizations.
