ABOUT THE CHARLOTTE CHAMBER
The Charlotte Chamber is a membership, volunteer-led organization. Our vision is to make Charlotte the best place to run a business and to live.
Our mission statement: the Charlotte Chamber creates competitive advantage by growing the economy, advocating pro-business public policies, and delivering innovative programs and services.
We deliver on our mission through our Program of Work – a list of specific, strategic goals renewed annually with input from our members. Our accomplishments each year and our Program of Work for the coming year are highlighted here.
What does this mean for you? Value is in the eye of the beholder. Understanding where you can get value from the Charlotte Chamber requires a deeper understanding of the chamber’s mission pillars.
Growing the Economy – The chamber’s Economic Development department recruits companies interested in relocation; provides information and assistance to companies preparing to expand in our area; and works with a wide array of partners to help existing Charlotte-area businesses overcome challenges that prevent them from growing, thriving and maintaining operations in our area. For most area businesses, these economic development activities boil down to new jobs and new capital investment that strengthen the flow of dollars in our economy. It can also mean new customers for your business. Finally, you can take advantage of the host of market data and information made available to companies looking at relocation to our city.
Advocating Pro-business Public Policy – The chamber’s Public Policy department monitors all levels of government to identify issues that may affect our local business climate and to advocate on behalf of our members.
Delivering Innovative Programs and Services – Our Member Engagement division can be summed up with the three Cs: community, content and connection. Community means physical and virtual places to gather to do business, build relationships and strengthen Charlotte’s business community. Content refers to the important information we provide to your business, including market data and tips, trends and tools you can gather at meetings. Connection refers to helping you build business-to-business relationships and communicating your needs to elected leaders.
