Zenta expands in Charlotte, adds 500 jobs
Zenta, a world-class knowledge and business outsourcing company, has expanded to a new location in Charlotte and expects to hire 500 employees by the end of 2009. (Today’s Charlotte Business Journal print issue refers to 400 new positions. Zenta revised its hiring projections after the press deadline.)
Zenta’s new office is located at 8215 Forest Point Boulevard, also known as Forest Park Six. John Culbertson and Leigh Rounds of Cardinal Real Estate Partners LLC represented the landlord, Faison & Associates. Zenta was represented by Ben Speir, Trinity Partners and Joe Cherry, Cherry and Associates.
Zenta offers a full range of back-office, voice and on-site support solutions such as credit card servicing, consumer lending servicing, accounts receivable management, mortgage servicing and real estate capital market analytics. The company’s customer base is spread among the following sectors: commercial and residential real estate, consumer credit, insurance and financial services and diversified business services. Founded in 2000, Zenta currently employs more than 5,000 in New York; Los Angeles; London; Mumbai and Chennai, India; Philadelphia and Charlotte.
Senior Vice President Henry Santos states, “It is our belief that the economy has actually accelerated the demand for variable cost business process outsourcing and professional services. Charlotte makes perfect sense as a launching point for growing the future capacity of our business. There is an ample supply of highly skilled, knowledge workers who will be able to perform a variety of functions required by the financial services industry. The local workforce combined with the business friendly “can do spirit” of the community drove our decision to scale our business here. This Charlotte operations center, in concert with our existing global production platform, will provide our clients a unique delivery capacity going forward.”
Santos further adds, “Having had a presence in Charlotte for several years, we are already fully aware of the advantages of this market, and we look forward to increasing our participation as a member of the business and professional community. We are grateful for the support provided by the Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and other local business partners. In particular, Central Piedmont Community College has proven to be an outstanding educational partner for training our residential mortgage underwriters and processors. We are obviously very excited about the future here in Charlotte.”
Charlotte Chamber President Bob Morgan notes, “Zenta is a knowledge-based global business. Their expansion in Charlotte will provide 500 good new jobs, confirming that Charlotte remains attractive to the financial services industry while others contract in the current economy.”
