GAI Consultants Opens Charlotte
Office to Serve the Carolinas
GAI Consultants has opened a Charlotte office to bring its diversified engineering services to the Carolinas and surrounding states. The new office, which supplements GAI’s southeastern region, will initially focus on environmental and energy projects. GAI will also offer specialized capabilities in sustainability and greenhouse gas consulting services.
GAI Consultants’ temporary office location is at 6047 Tyvola Glen Road. The company plans to hire 15-20 employees within the next 3 years and is positioning itself to help clients meet their needs in the economic recovery.
“It’s common knowledge that North Carolina and South Carolina are attractive places for people to live and do business. They need energy and water utilities, factories and businesses, roads, schools, health care facilities and all the other community features,” says Gary DeJidas, President and CEO of GAI Consultants. “We want to help design and build them to be economically, environmentally and socially sustainable.”
Robert (Bob) McElfresh has dual roles of Office Manager and Director of Energy Services for the Charlotte location. “I’m delighted to be part of the GAI team,” he stated. “I first became aware of GAI in the mid-1980s when they helped my former company solve a major waste disposal problem.”
GAI is a 650-person, employee-owned, multi-disciplined engineering and environmental consulting firm, serving clients worldwide in the energy, transportation, real estate, water, municipal, government, institutional, and industrial markets from its headquarters in Pittsburgh and offices throughout the Northeast, Midwest, and Southeastern United States.
