Premier Inc. healthcare alliance to
relocate headquarters to Charlotte, add 300 jobs

Governor Beverly Perdue announced today that Premier Inc. will relocate its corporate headquarters from San Diego to Charlotte. Premier, the largest healthcare alliance in the country, currently employs 750 in Charlotte and encompasses a network of more than 2,200 member hospitals.

In a press conference in Charlotte, Deputy Commerce Secretary Dale Carroll confirmed that North Carolina’s Economic Investment Committee approved earlier today a Job Development Investment Grant to support Premier’s move and plans for growth. The headquarters relocation will be accompanied by a 300-job expansion and significant investment in new office facilities.  

Premier President and CEO Susan DeVore also announced that the company intends to lease all ten stories of the Boyle Building, a 262,000 sq. ft. office tower completed earlier this year in Ballantyne Corporate Center on Charlotte’s south side. Blair Bryan, Jeff Harper and Eric Parris of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Premier in lease negotiations with building owner Bissell Companies, who were represented by Ned Curran and Barry Fabyan.

The Charlotte Chamber worked closely with Premier Inc. over the past 18 months to facilitate the project. The North Carolina Department of Commerce, Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte also played key roles and provided critical support.
