Zenta plans Charlotte expansion, to add 1,000 jobs

Governor Beverly Perdue announced today that Zenta will expand its presence in Charlotte with plans to add 1,000 jobs over the next five years.

Zenta is a leading international knowledge and business process outsourcing company whose clients include many of the most notable companies in the financial services industry.  The company offers a full range of business support solutions such as residential mortgage services, mortgage servicing, consumer lending servicing, and real estate capital markets analytics.  The company’s customer base is spread among the following sectors: residential and commercial real estate, asset management, capital markets, consumer lending, insurance, and diversified business services.  Founded in 2000, Zenta currently employs approximately 5,000 in offices in Charlotte; New York; Dallas; Los Angeles; Philadelphia; Florence, SC; London; Mumbai and Chennai, India; and Manila, Philippines.

Zenta will expand in Forest Park, a business park located near I-77 and Arrowood Road in southwest Charlotte.   Zenta is represented by Ben Speir, Trinity Partners and Joe Cherry, Cherry and Associates.  John Culbertson and Leigh Rounds of Cardinal Real Estate Partners LLC represent the landlord, Faison & Associates.

Zenta’s CEO Henry Hortenstine states, “We are excited about our opportunity to expand in Charlotte.  The Charlotte market offers a strong supply of talented financial services professionals.  In addition, we are pleased with finding a campus setting at Forest Park that is conveniently located and able to readily accommodate our rapid growth needs.  In what has been a very tough economic environment, Zenta’s business model is resonating with the clients we serve.  Thanks to the Zenta team members worldwide for their outstanding performance, which makes this continued growth in Charlotte possible.”

Hortenstine adds, “We are grateful for the support provided by the Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Department of Commerce and other business partners.  The company had alternatives to Charlotte, but in the end this was the right decision for Zenta.  We are excited about our continued and expanded presence in Charlotte.”

Charlotte Chamber President Bob Morgan notes, "Zenta's growth in Charlotte is impressive and will provide more good jobs for the citizens of our region.  We appreciate Zenta's continued investment in our city.  With this announcement, more than 3,000 new financial services jobs have been created in Charlotte in 2009 from companies such as Zenta, GMAC, USBancorp and others.  To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of the demise of Charlotte as a leading financial center are greatly exaggerated."

Zenta will receive a Job Development Investment Grant if job and investment commitments are met. In addition, Zenta is eligible for state sponsored community college training assistance as well as employment recruitment and screening services during the grant period.
