Todaytec to relocate North American production facility, add 50 jobs in Charlotte

Todaytec LLC, a Chinese manufacturer, will relocate its thermal transfer bar code ribbon converting and distribution facility to Charlotte. Due to a rapid increase in demand from OEM and channel partners throughtout the USA, Canada and Mexico, the company expects to double its facility and hire up to 50 employees within three years.

Todaytec is the first Chinese thermal transfer ribbon manufacturer to set up a production facility in the U.S. In China, Todaytec is the #1 producer and marketer of thermal transfer bar code ribbons and is the fastest growing supplier on a worldwide basis. The company just completed building a brand new 500,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility in the beautiful tourist city of Hangzhou, China and doubled its coating capacity to support the North American and global business expansion.

“Our thermal transfer bar code ribbon business is experiencing a 500 percent growth rate in 2010 over 2009, and we expect to double sales again in 2011,” says Michael Oliverio, President of Todaytec LLC. “Charlotte provides an excellent quality of life for our employees and their families and a logistical delivery advantage to over 75 percent of our customer base. Additionally, we are creating quality manufacturing jobs and investing in new equipment while providing our valued customers a tremendous competitive advantage to help them gain market share and increase profitability.”

Todaytec will initially occupy 12,200 sq. ft. at 6701-K Northpark Boulevard, Northpark Business Center. Donald N. Beck of Beck Commercial Properties represented Todaytec with market analysis, site selection and lease negotiation. The landlord, EastGroup Properties, was represented by Anne Johnson and Bryan Crutcher of CB Richard Ellis.

The Charlotte Chamber assisted Todaytec during its evaluation of Charlotte.
