Steinbauer Tuning Technologies
relocates to Charlotte

 Austria-based Steinbauer Tuning Technologies has moved its U.S. subsidiary from suburban Chicago to Charlotte.  Steinbauer develops and manufactures electronic modules for the vehicle after-market, including add-on systems that increase the power and fuel efficiency of diesel engines in agricultural equipment and other heavy vehicles. 

Steinbauer Tuning Technologies Corp. recently purchased a 4,200 sq. ft. office-warehouse condo unit at 364 Crompton Street in southwest Charlotte near the Westinghouse Boulevard interchange with I-77.  Joey Godbold of Percival McGuire Commercial Real Estate represented the company in its space search and purchase negotiations.  Mike Kirby of Southeast Commercial Real Estate represented the seller. 

Steinbauer now employs four in Charlotte, including software and web design specialists, and plans to add staff as U.S. sales continue to grow.  Management expects also to consider adding product assembly and certain manufacturing operations in Charlotte.

“We compared many cities across the U.S., and Charlotte had everything we needed and more: a good international airport, affordable cost of living and taxes, and an excellent support network for international businesses,” says Sherie Jones, Marketing Manager.  “We couldn’t have chosen a better city.”

The Charlotte Chamber worked closely with Steinbauer executives during their evaluation of Charlotte and other locations.
