Lime Energy relocates headquarters to Huntersville

Company plans to add 50-75 jobs

Lime Energy, a leading provider of clean energy solutions, announced today the relocation of its headquarters from Chicago to Huntersville, NC. The company will consolidate IT, accounting and engineering functions along with corporate management with the move. The company anticipates that the headquarters move will be completed in October.

“Lime Energy is excited to connect to the emerging energy hub in North Carolina” stated John O’Rourke, President and CEO of Lime Energy. “Lime Energy has built a national platform that makes clean energy a reality for our government, commercial and utility customers. Lime Energy has grown 30 percent year over year for the past three years and reported record backlog in its most recent earnings call.”

Lime has added approximately 15 jobs in 2011 related to the headquarters move and 35 jobs in North Carolina in the past year. The company employs approximately 100 people in North Carolina and over 400 nationally and anticipates adding an additional 50-75 jobs over the next 12-24 months. Lime is also expanding its space at the Kenton Place development on Sam Furr Road in Huntersville to accommodate the additional employees.

“We are pleased to welcome the Lime Energy headquarters to Huntersville and the Lake Norman Region,” said Mike Griffin, Chair of the Lake Norman Regional EDC. “We know the company and its employees will find the quality of life and the work environment to be second to none,” he added.

Bob Morgan, president of the Charlotte Chamber added, “We are thrilled to have a clean energy company with the capabilities of Lime Energy become a key member of our growing energy sector. We know they will bring another skill set to the table to further diversify our base of energy companies.”

Lime Energy’s services include integrated energy engineering, consulting and the implementation of solutions that enable customers to reduce their facility’s energy consumption, lower their operating and maintenance costs and reduce their carbon footprint. Lime brings over 20 years of delivering economically viable efficiency and renewable energy solutions that benefit communities and protect the environment.
