Andritz Hydro is the largest division of the Andritz Group of Graz, Austria, a global supplier of equipment for the hydro, pulp and paper, metal production, environmental process and feed/biofuels sectors. The Andritz Group generated sales of 3.6 billion euros in 2010, approximately US $5 billion at today’s exchange rates, and employs 16,100 in locations around the globe.

Several new hydroelectric rehabilitation projects, including a $102 million contract for overhauling the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington State, drive Andritz Hydro’s growth in the U.S. The company’s roots in Charlotte date to the last decade and the U.S. office of VA Tech Hydro, an Austrian hydroelectric equipment manufacturer that was acquired by Andritz in 2006. The company’s Charlotte footprint has grown from 4 to over 80 employees in the last ten years, and continued growth is projected based on U.S. market demand.
