Have you heard what's going on at Wingate? The University is on a positive PR roll. Last weekend, the school graduated its largest class ever with 521 students receiving their diplomas. This month, president Jerry McGee will be inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and the college's Matthews campus is expanding at rapid speed. Oh, and did we mention, the institution just became a Charlotte Chamber Board of Advisor member?
With so much happening in such a short amount of time, we wondered what's the secret to Wingate's success? Everyone we spoke with credited the school's leadership. In particular, McGee.
The chamber's Bob Morgan recently had an opportunity to meet with him and asked McGee about Wingate's decision to join the chamber now. McGee said with so many of their students and graduates choosing to live and work in Mecklenburg County it just makes sense.
Thanks, President McGee and welcome to the team!
