Greenville, SC law firm expands into Charlotte
Gallivan, White and Boyd, P.A. (GWB), one of the Southeast’s leading litigation and business law firms, has established a Charlotte expansion office. The firm recently leased 5,200 sq. ft. in One Morrocroft Centre near SouthPark. Brad Grow of Colliers International represented GWB in lease negotiations, and Marshall Williamson of Lincoln Harris represented the landlord.
Following its start-up last year in small temporary quarters, GWB Charlotte began its search for permanent space. The firm now employs eleven, including six attorneys and five support staff. GWB anticipates further growth, and its Morrocroft space will accommodate a doubling of its current Charlotte operations.
"We have seen a significant increase in the demand for our services in North Carolina,” says C. William McGee, GWB’s managing shareholder. “Our new Charlotte office will allow the firm to serve our clients more effectively and efficiently throughout the region."
Founded more than six decades ago in Greenville, SC, GWB now has 61 attorneys. The firm was ranked in 2011-12 as a “Best Law Firm” by U.S. News and Best Lawyers and placed in Tier 1 in twelve different practice areas, including commercial litigation, transportation law, product-liability litigation-defense and employment law including management, benefits and workers’ compensation. GWB’s practice areas include strategic risk assessment and counseling, complex defense litigation, business law and corporate representation.
The Charlotte Chamber worked with GWB during its Charlotte office launch.
