United Kingdom adhesives manufacturer
to create 31 jobs in Charlotte

Beardow Adams, a leading adhesives manufacturer, will locate its operations in Charlotte. The company plans to add 31 jobs and invest more than $5.1 million over the next five years. The average salary for the new jobs will be $52,984.

Beardow Adams, headquartered in Milton Keynes, U.K., was founded in 1977 by Len Beardow and Bob Adams. The company produces hot melt adhesives, which are sold throughout the world. Beardow Adams currently operates Europe’s largest hot melt production plant in Milton Keynes. It has a subsidiary in Barcelona, Spain, which manufactures water-based adhesives.

Beardow Adams will hire personnel to support production, dispatch, quality testing and sales ordering. During the initial stages, staff from the U.K. will train and support the new U.S. personnel in areas such as manufacturing, engineering, sales, information technology and administration. The company expects most of the new positions to be filled locally.

The Charlotte Chamber worked closely with Beardow Adams on this project. The chamber would like to thank N.C. Governor Beverly Perdue, the N.C. Department of Commerce, Mecklenburg County, the City of Charlotte and Duke Energy for their support with this important project.

The Charlotte Chamber assisted Beardow Adams with their real estate search, and the landlord was represented by Bryan Hartnett of Carolina Realty Holdings.
