Linda Lockman-BrooksThe March of Dimes is pleased to honor Ms. Linda Lockman-Brooks, Founder of Lockman-Brooks Marketing Services, as the recipient of its 2012 “Celebrating Contributions to Charlotte” award.  This honoree breakfast event will take place on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 7:30 – 9 am at the Mint Museum in Uptown Charlotte.

This award was established in 2005 by the Greater Piedmont Division of the March of Dimes to honor a member of the business community who has demonstrated a long history of service and has contributed greatly to the City of Charlotte.  This description certainly fits Ms. Lockman-Brooks, who has spent the last 14 years making an impact on the Charlotte business scene with her creative marketing strategy design and development.  She has also demonstrated her passion for civic engagement, serving as the board chair for the Arts and Science Council, YWCA of the Central Carolinas and the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, not to mention serving as a board member of a number of other community organizations.

Ms. Lockman-Brooks is the first female ever selected for this honor and joins an illustrious list of past recipients, including Mr. Ed Weisiger, Sr. of Carolina CAT, Mr. Jerry Orr of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Mr. Fred Klein of Childress Klein Properties, Mr. Bob Bertges of Wells Fargo and  Mr. Jim Palermo of Bank of America.

For additional event information, including sponsorship opportunities, please contact Lisa Hall, March of Dimes Community Director at (980) 939-6022 or lchall@marchofdimes.org.
