Uptown Charlotte is undergoing a facelift of sorts just blocks from Bank of America Stadium and a few streets behind the chamber's offices. Ground was broken in September on the future site of BB&T Ballpark, where in the spring of 2014 the Knights will begin play at their new home. Renderings of the stadium are stunning. Officials say the facility can seat up to 10,000 fans and will be used to host events year round. Conservative estimates project some 600,000 fans will attend games in the team's first year at the stadium.

To help build excitement within the community and to encourage corporate involvement, the Knights organization has created a comprehensive web site complete with a live webcam of stadium construction and details on partnership packages. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming chamber opportunities to learn more about the minor league moving uptown.
