2013 Charlotte Chamber Transportation Summit

With the uncertainty of funding for transportation infrastructure at all levels of government, how will we address our future growth? Our hub airline is on the verge of a merger. We have a master plan for expansion of our airport. The road needs in our region far outweigh the revenues collected through the gas tax. And, the half-cent sales tax for transit will fall woefully short of funding our community vision for public transportation. Learn more about all these issues at our half-day Transportation Summit on Friday, April 12 at Ballantyne Resort & Lodge.

In addition to discussing innovative ways to generate needed revenue, we will also receive updates on the airport, rail and transit, and major road projects. We look forward to hosting N.C. Secretary of Transportation Tony Tata, who will be delivering the keynote address. Other speakers include:

Carolyn Flowers, CATS
David Howard, Charlotte City Councilmember
Mike Minerva, USAirways
Louis Mitchell, NCDOT
Jerry Orr, Charlotte-Douglas International Airport
Danny Pleasant, Charlotte DOT
Rodger Rochelle, NCDOT
Jill Swain, Town of Huntersville Mayor
David Ungemah, Parsons Brinckerhoff
Paul Worley, NCDOT Rail

The event is open to the entire business community. You need not be a member of the chamber to attend.
