The second of seven finalists has been named in the Charlotte Chamber's Power Up Challenge. Justin Gaither, pictured above center, beat out Jon (left) and Jack (right) Moellendick at the NorthWest Power Up competition on May 16 at the Drury Inn & Suites, sponsored by Certus Bank.
Gaither is president and co-founder at ECampus, LLC, a company that provides services for the college student market. ECampus launched Roomsurf.com in 2010, which has grown to over 350,000 users to become the largest social media platform that matches college roommates.
Gaither's two opponents were Jack Moellendick, CEO of the OCTOGON group, which develops low cost houses from Styrofoam; and Jon Moellendick, the president of RISE Eco-Technologies, LLC, founded in 2009 with the goal of providing emerging energy efficient technologies to local Charlotte area businesses. The father and son competitors made for an even more exciting event.
Gaither now joins Julio Colmenares in the running for a chance to win the $25,000 grand prize sponsored by Duke Energy. Check out all the photos posted on the chamber's Facebook page.
The next competition will be held at the University City Chapter on June 13. Click here to register. Want to know more? Here are all the details about the Power Up Challenge.
