MarketPlace Posting a Project
Instructions on How to Post a Project
- Login to MarketPlace using your userid/password
- Click MarketPlace Menu on the top right
- Click Add a new Project from the MarketPlace menu
- Choose a Type of project: RFP, RFQ, RFI (Learn about the different types of projects)
- Give your project a Title
- Choose a Category for your project - this will enable bidders to search by category and receive notifications when your project is posted
- Enter your contact information (Name, Email Address, Phone Number)
- Choose a Start Date - This is the date the project will be "live" on the system, other members can view the project on or after this date. Please note that you will not have the ability to edit your RFP after the start date. At that point you may only add an addendum.
- Choose a Due Date - This is the date that all bids for your project are due, and the day the project is removed from the projects list
- Choose a Due Time - This is the time of day that bids are due on the Due Date specified above
- Write an Objective - What do you wish to accomplish with this project?
- Provide a Detailed Description to potential suppliers or vendors. Be sure to include the following, if applicable:
- Specifications of the item, project or service for which a proposal is requested
- Detailed requirements for the project
- Timeline for selecting a vendor
- Final day that questions about the project will be accepted
- The best way to contact you for questions
- Special instructions for submitting bids other than answering questions provided by this system (ex. do you require a printed copy of the bid, if so, where should it be mailed?)
- Enter a list of Questions you would like the supplier to answer. Start each question on a new line. Each question will be posed to the bidder as a text field for them to answer. Examples of questions to ask the bidder include:
- Basic corporate information and history
- Financial information (can the company deliver without risk of bankruptcy?)
- Technical capability (used on major procurements of services, where the item has not previously been made or where the requirement could be met by varying technical means)
- Product information such as stock availability
- Product or service pricing
- Estimated completion period
- Customer references that can be checked to determine a company's suitability
- Include any Comments that you would like to make regarding the project. These comments are not seen by those bidding on your project.
