Ballantyne Chapter Luncheon : Disciplined Listening - December 2017
The Ballantyne chapter luncheon is now SOLD OUT. Walk-ins will be accommodated based on availability.
When business opportunities fail to materialize the first question we often ask ourselves is "What did I miss?" More often than not we are presented with many verbal and non-verbal indications of what our counterparts are thinking and feeling - we just weren't listening carefully enough tot take advantage of them. Applying a communication method that systematically focuses our attention on the nuances of what we see and hear can illuminate the path to new business opportunities.
Michael Reddington leveraged his experience in the interview room when he created the Disciplined Listening Method to provide executives with the advantages they need to accurately evaluate communication, improve their questioning skills, and quickly connect with and influence their counterparts. The Disciplined Listening Method integrates the key components of four non-confrontational interview and interrogation techniques with current research and best practices to instill the skills necessary to activate the truth.
What You Will Learn:
Through a combination of interactive discussion, lecture and videos of real interrogations attendees will walk away with skills and techniques necessary to evaluate and apply everything they see to help achieve their goals. These lessons include how to:
- Establish clear, multi-level goals for every interaction
- Create a mindset for maximum observation
- Follow a system to evaluate what you see and hear
- Recognize specific verbal and non-verbal signals of acceptance and resistance
- Influence the context of conversations to increase the accuracy of your observations
- Strengthen relationships with your observations
