The 2014 Charlotte Chamber Inter City Visit gave business leaders and public officials the opportunity to experience firsthand why Minneapolis has consistently ranked first or second in the national American Fitness Index ranking. Participants also learned about the city’s best practices in transportation, public-private partnerships in the promotion of professional sports, building an entrepreneurial ecosystem, arts and culture, and more. Key themes that emerged were the importance of taking a regional and collaborative approach to addressing issues, while positioning Charlotte to win in the future.

For the past 59 years, the Charlotte Chamber has taken a group of business leaders and public officials on an annual trip to a city to learn best practices while getting a firsthand look at that city's innovative ideas, programs and initiatives. This year, the group will visit Minneapolis led by trip co-chairs Walter Price, Moore & Van Allen; Laura Schulte, Wells Fargo; and Stick Williams, Duke Energy. We will examine how Minneapolis has addressed issues such as education, transportation, public-private partnerships in the promotion of professional sports, building an entrepreneurial ecosystem, civic and corporate leadership, arts and culture, and Fit Minneapolis and the city's biking infrastructure, to name a few.
